New Year New Beginnings
For over half of the world, the New Year for 2014 has already started, and for the rest of us it is the last few hours of the final day of 2013. If there are things you wish you had done, goals you wish you had accomplished, or words you wish you had said but did not have the courage, then leave the regret of that behind and start fresh! Let 2014 be the year you take those leaps in faith and do what you previously did not have the courage to do, say what you did not have the courage to say to the people you didn’t have the courage to say the needed things to say to them, and take small steps in faith towards accomplishing those goals you previously set for yourself, or make new and realistic goals with small sub-goals (or short-time goals) that are doable that will help you to achieve your bigger and more long-time goals! Say goodbye to your fears, doubts, anxieties, failures, and regrets and say hello to faith, trust, hope, prosperity, joy, peace, love, and to the best year yet!
2014 is going to be a great year for all of us! I can feel it! You have to believe it too, because what you believe will happen, unfortunately will happen whether you are believing for the best or for the worst. Don’t spend another year believing for the worst to happen. Stir up your spirit and decide that 2014 is your year. If there is someone you’re deeply in love with but were previously too scared to tell them or you didn’t feel it was the right time, or any other reason you didn’t tell the person you’re in love with how you feel, talk to God about it and when the time is right, tell them! Were you considering going back to school to study cooking or art? Perhaps you wanted to take writing classes but whatever class you wanted to take you didn’t feel the time was right or you were scared of going after your dream. 2014 is a new year filled with new possibilities so if there is a class you’ve been wanting to take and you can afford it then sign up for it! If you can’t afford it right now, save up and make it a goal to take that class (or those classes). Maybe you were contemplating a career change but uncertainty on how things would work out stopped you. Let 2014 be the year that you take the leap in faith and trust God! Talk to God about these things of course, but when he gives you signs to go for it, do it! God will not fail you or abandon you! Someone recently asked a very good question in a movie I was watching last night. The question was, “If there was no chance of failure, what would you be doing right now?” Then the person said to do whatever it is. Now I am asking you, my readers: If there was absolutely no chance of failure, what would you be doing with your life right now? Let that be a question you answer in 2014 for yourself. If you spent all or most of 2013 sick, then say goodbye to all sickness because I believe God will bring supernatural (and full) healing to you! If you lost your job or have been unable to get one, I believe this is your year for getting a new job and in the field you have always wanted to work in because it was God who put the desire in your heart to do whatever line of work and he will help you achieve the goal of working your dream job this year! Believe it, talk to God about it and ask him what action steps to take towards it and if he doesn’t answer right away then the answer may be to wait a little bit and in the mean time, continue your faithful work for God and in the right time, things will shift in your favor.
If there are any relationships you are holding on to that God has been trying to get you to let go of, then let this be the year you have the courage to let these toxic relationships go. If there are any relationships God is trying to build (or rebuild) for you in your life (possibly including your relationship with God himself), then let God lead you into reconciliation. This is your year to kick bad habits and start good habits that lead to a healthier and happier life with God as your center, always. God will never ask you to do something without equipping you to do it so if you struggle with letting go of bad habits (or toxic relationships) then pray to God for help and he will help you and show you the way. New Years are meant to be fresh starts and filled with new beginnings. Carefully consider what goals or New Year’s resolutions you want to make and make sure to make smaller goals and resolutions that will help be stepping stones for you to reach your bigger goals and new year’s resolutions. When people take time out to think about things they want to change in the new year, they need to make sure that part of the change includes getting rid of the obstacles currently standing in the way of these goals or resolutions being reached. When you do this, you will find that you will succeed in reaching your goals – long-term and short-term, and also succeed in doing what is on your list of resolutions for the new year ahead. Remember that before you learned to walk (as a baby), you learned to crawl. Baby steps in faith will lead to the bigger steps needed to be taken and then one day you will wake up to the changes you sought being made and your situation being turned around in your favor and you will be thankful to God. Let forgiveness be a part of your 2014! If you are holding a grudge against anyone because of hurt or betrayal or you are angry with yourself, let it go! Forgive the person(s) who hurt you and forgive yourself! Let all forms of love prevail in your 2014!
A verse just came to mind in line with this blog. Isaiah 43:18-19, which says, “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” God is promising that right now he is doing something new in your life! Can you perceive it? Do you believe it? If yes then you are on your way to new beginnings, new opportunities, and better days! Your best days are still ahead of you! Let faith, peace, love, and joy reign in your 2014 and keep a positive attitude and have a positive outlook on life! These are my goals (to let faith, peace, love, and joy reign in my life and to keep a positive attitude). What are your goals or New Year’s resolutions? Make sure they are reachable goals and remember you CAN achieve anything you believe you can! You are NOT alone! God is with you. Philippians 4:13 says, “For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” Have a safe night and have a wonderful New Year! “May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26 The blessing is for all of you who are reading this and you may share this blessing prayer with anyone you want to! Goodbye 2013 and hello 2014! I believe 2014 is my year and your year too!
One final, final thing! Let one of your New Year’s resolutions to be to have a deeper and closer relationship with God (and a right relationship with him if you have not yet been baptized or have been lost for a little while) and to provide better service to God, and to love others and yourself and God more. Happy New Year’s Eve to those who are in the USA, Canada, South America, Mexico, and anywhere else it is still December 31st, 2013. Happy New Year to the rest of the world who have already begun 2014!
