True Love

True love is real and pure, faithful, and best of all it is unconditional. Everyone wants to experience this kind of love and we all could if we all followed Jesus and act like him because  we would be giving out love and the love would come back to us. But be encouraged, if you love someone but are unsure how they feel about you, have faith that if it is meant to be then it will be.

Love has a lot of other qualities too, which are mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. It says, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand it’s own way. It is not irritable and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” Do you love others in this way? Do you love friends, family, neighbors, strangers, and significant others in this unconditional way? Most people think that it is only important to love a “special someone” this way (and not always then either) but it is important to love everyone this way, including your enemies. It is the way Jesus loves us so we are to love others, as well as ourselves in the same way, which Jesus tells us in John 13:34, where he tells us we are to love each other in the same way he has loved us. And he loved us enough to die for our sins so we could be saved and have eternal life through him.

Is there anyone in your life you would lay down your life for? Friends? Family members? A significant other? When you are in love with someone, don’t be afraid to tell them and to show them. And if the other person has a hard time expressing their feelings to you, remember to be patient, never to lose faith, and never give up on them. If you have mountain-moving faith, which Jesus talks about you only needing faith as small as a mustard seed to move a mountain in Matthew 17:20-21, then two people who are meant to be together will be together. You need to believe that love conquers all because God is love and God has the power to work things out in your favor. Believe that nothing can stop two people truly in love from being together. It may appear that obstacles prevent it temporarily, but there will come the day where, if you keep believing, you and the person you are meant to be with will be together because God destined it to be that way.
